Mental Health Awareness in School

On the 12th of March 2022, the School Mental Health Awareness Programme of Supportive Activists Foundation (SAF) conducted a mental Health awareness training in Sambuyan Skagen Basic Cycle School.

The training aim to educate school going students on the basic understanding of mental Health and mental illness. Good mental health allows children and young people to develop the resilience to cope with whatever life throws at them and grow into well-rounded, healthy adults. Mentally, healthy children feel good about their lives and can function well at home, in school, and in their communities.

The training was very educative and interesting the students share their understanding in which they made mention that they are now able to differentiate what is mental health and mental Illness and they also know the type of mental illnesses .

Many special thanks go to our volunteer who always endures the best of volunteerism and not forgetting the students of Sambuyan Skagen BCS and the school administration.

We welcome partnership and collaboration for a greater course of action.
Together we can end mental stigma in Gambia and educate schools and societies to increase their love for persons with behavioural disorders.

Mental illness is a global concern together we can make a better society
